The Apple Watch helped prevent a potential coma in a 16-year-old skier by detecting low blood oxygen levels.

Marcella Lee, his mother,  used her Apple Watch to measure the blood oxygen saturation after his lips and fingertips turned blue, showing a reading of 66%.

Medical treatment is necessary if blood oxygen saturation falls below 88%. The hospital's equipment showed 67% blood oxygen.

The 16-year-old boy was able to recover thanks to prompt care.

In November 2022, the Apple Watch Series 7 helped save the life of a 17-year-old boy in India who fell into a valley while hiking.

Last year, Apple Watch allowed a Pune teenager to call his parents and inform them of his location after falling into a gorge without a phone.

Apple Watch has demonstrated its ability to detect health issues.

In both cases, the timely detection of the health issue allowed for medical attention to be sought, leading to the individuals' recovery.

Apple Watch can prevent fatalities, making it a great personal safety tool.
